First, I am a mom...
Some lessons come from textbooks. The most important ones come from lived experience.. Then I became a mother — and everything I thought I knew was put to the test.
My daughter was born at 4lb 9oz. I supplemented for a few weeks and pushed through uncertainty about our breastfeeding future — one that ended up lasting over five years without ever planning it.
My expertise was deepened in ways I never could have imagined.
It showed me that confidence is a skill, not a feeling — and it can be taught.
That is exactly what I do for every family I work with.
I won't just teach you how to breastfeed. I will prepare you to handle anything that comes your way — with strength, knowledge, and complete trust in yourself.
Today, my approach goes beyond the facts. I prepare families not just with the knowledge to breastfeed, but with the confidence and emotional resilience to face the unexpected — because the most important thing I can give you is the belief that you can do this.
My Philosophy
You deserve gentle, personalized support. That's the heart of everything I do.
01
Personalized Care
Your goals are my goals.
02
Knowledge
In over 20 years, I haven't seen it all, but I've seen a lot—and I will never stop learning.
03
Autonomy
An educated parent is a skillful and confident parent. My goal is to help you take control of your own breastfeeding journey.
Experience & Certifications
I am a Lactation Consultant and Postpartum Educator who unexpectedly began my journey in 2004 under the guidance of Certified Professional Midwives at an El Paso Birth Center. Thanks to the noble nature of midwives and their constant desire to teach, I was given the opportunity to witness and eventually lead the art of caring for families during their prenatal and postpartum appointments, as well as assisting during labor and births. Since then, my mission has been to support and empower families as they become parents, advocating for pregnancy, birth, and parenting autonomy. I deeply treasure the two occasions when I worked and learned alongside midwives and doulas—seven years the first time and four years the second.
I became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) in 2015 through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice, and moved forwards to obtain my IBCLC (IBCLC)certification in 2022 via Pathway 1 from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. I provide the gold standard in lactation care. The IBCLC certification represents years of specialized training, rigorous examination, and a commitment to ongoing education in the science of human lactation.
To continue my education in the maternal-child health field, I completed the HUG Your Baby: Understanding Your Newborn Teacher Certification in 2019. This is an evidence-based program developed by Jan Tedder, a family nurse practitioner and lactation consultant in North Carolina. It is about recognizing your baby’s body language so you can prevent and address feeding, crying, and sleep challenges.
With over two decades of experience at your side, I ensure you and your baby get the best start possible with reassuring, compassionate, and professional in-home care.
